A few things about the Marina’s newest eatery, Paiche

Tapas is taking over. One of the newest, trendiest spots (definitely in the Marina del Rey) is Paiche, a Peruvian restaurant with a Japanese twist.

The verdict: tasty food, pricey, but worth trying. Refreshing to see a restaurant like this in the Marina, where it’s a struggle to find any place worth going. On the starchier side, but since the plates are small it’s hard to get really full. Unless you are me and order 5 dishes for yourself. Might not be good for grandmas who are used to early bird dinner specials and lots of food on their plate.

Would I go back? Yes, but with people who understand the concept of small plates. Waiter was not the friendliest, but it’s the food that matters, right?

Best dishes: Eggplant, rock shrimp, lobster fried rice, churros.
